Chapter 34 - Mysterious Crown Prince

il!" With that, he raised an eyebrow at Rong Jing, “Now everyone has left, won’t Prince Consort Jing return home”"With them gone, the place is peaceful. Crown Prince Ri can simply take my second siste...Chapter Thirty-Four The Mysterious Crown Prince

Ling Lian and Yi Xue nearly fell off their horses when they heard the young man's words. They stared at him with wide eyes.

Cloud Qianyue laughed as she patted his head, reminding him, "Wait until you're alive to speak about this in River Valley County!"

The youth grunted and said angrily, "I'll definitely marry you anyway!"

"Didn't you help me break off the marriage contract between the Eastern Sea Kingdom and the Glory王府" Cloud Qianyue arched an eyebrow. She had thought multiple times about whose child this was.

“Hmph! Breaking off the marriage contract with the Eastern Sea Kingdom and the Glory王府 has nothing to do with you That's their business, it doesn't concern me marrying you.” The youth said.

"Can you beat Rong Jing" Cloud Qianyue thought about how the marriage contract between the Eastern Sea Kingdom and the Glory王府 indeed had nothing to do with her. But Rong Jing was related to her, so this matter certainly concerned her as well.

“Even if I can’t beat him, I’ll still fight!” The youth said resentfully.

Cloud Qianyue smiled and patted his head, her tone involuntarily carrying a hint of amusement. "If you're tired, go to sleep! I'll hold onto you so that you don't fall off the horse."

The youth seemed to grumble before closing his eyes. Indeed, he was both tired and sleepy.

Cloud Qianyue didn’t say anything more as she saw him really go to sleep. She reached out to embrace his waist, securing him in front of the horse so that he could rest comfortably without falling off. Only then did she speed up and continue on her way.

Ling Lian and Yi Xue exchanged a look; they felt that their mistress seemed to be treating this youth well. They were somewhat puzzled by it.

Exiting the mountain path, they joined the official road which was much smoother now that the water had been cleared away from it. Not far ahead lay Jingzhou County, and what would normally take two days of travel, Cloud Qianyue and her group managed to cover in one night. They didn’t stop at Jingzhou County but continued on to Kangcheng.

There was about a hundred miles between Jingzhou County and Kangcheng; the next city after Kangcheng was Luoshui City.

The flooding they encountered after leaving Jingzhou County appeared to be even more severe than that in Huai’an City. Virtually all farmland had been flooded, with only a muddy expanse of water visible from afar. The official road had been dredged and could still be traversed, though most of the houses along both sides had collapsed or were submerged.

Cloud Qianyue was eager to see Rong Jing, so she felt no fatigue despite riding day and night. As her horse’s hooves hit puddles on the official road, they made a splashing sound; even the wind seemed cool and damp.

No one tried to stop them or ambush them along the way. In the evening, Cloud Qianyue and her group finally reached Luoshui City.

Luoshui City had suffered the worst flooding of all but seemed to have been restored most effectively. The streets were tidy; apart from some rain-soaked brick walls and houses, there was no trace of any floodwater left behind. Restaurants, tea houses, taverns, and entertainment establishments were already back in business, though with sparse foot traffic. This indicated that the city had recovered quickly.

Upon entering the city, Cloud Qianyue reined in her horse and instructed Ling Lian, “Find out where Rong Jing is.”

Ling Lian nodded and hurried off to do as she was told.

Sitting atop her horse, Cloud Qianyue observed Luoshui City. She thought that Rong Jing must not have rested since leaving the capital city on that day; given that they had not seen or heard any cries of distress along their journey, he likely did his best to minimize losses.

"Miss, Prince Consort Jing has already left Luoshui City," Ling Lian returned after a short while and whispered to Cloud Qianyue.

“When did he leave” Cloud Qianyue asked.

"This morning," replied Ling Lian.

"Which direction did he go" Cloud Qianyue frowned. She had ridden day and night to see him, only to find out that he was no longer in Luoshui City. However, upon reflection, it made sense for him to have left since he had completed all necessary flood relief work here. He would likely have moved on.

“I asked several people, but nobody knew. But definitely not back to the capital city,” Ling Lian said.

"Hmm, if he were heading back to the capital, we should’ve run into him along the way. Besides, there are still other places affected by flooding that need his attention; it’s unlikely he’ll return to the capital anytime soon," Cloud Qianyue mused for a moment and then asked, "Besides Luoshui City, where else has been seriously affected by the floods"

Ling Lian glanced at the young man in Cloud Qianyue's arms. Seeing that he was still sleeping soundly, she whispered back, "River Valley County."

Yun Qianyue's mind moved.

Ling Lian whispered again, "It is said that Huaguxian County was hit harder than Luoshui City and there are also landslides. It is reported that many people died and were trapped." After speaking, she continued, "The roads have been cut off and almost all communication with the outside has been severed."

Yun Qianyue fell silent.

"Miss, do you want me to contact Red Pavilion's agents to inquire" Ling Lian試探問道。 They had been on the road without stopping, so naturally there was no time to connect with the Red Pavilion's spies stationed in various places. She had just asked a few ordinary soldiers and learned that the Viscount Jing left Luoshui City.

"Hn, go ask then!" Yun Qianyue nodded but she already had a firm idea that Rong Jing must have gone to Huaguxian County.

Ling Lian replied and immediately rode off.

Yun Qianyue looked down at the young man. He had been sleeping on horseback since morning, motionless as if dead from exhaustion. If she had thrown or sold him along the way, he probably wouldn't have noticed. She watched him before suddenly reaching out to pat his shoulder and asked, "Who are you trying to save in Huaguxian County"

"Brother Zishu," the young man murmured.

"Who is he" Yun Qianyue asked again. A person's consciousness could be suppressed when they were asleep to a certain degree and wouldn't respond to their brain.

"The Crown Prince." The young man mumbled again.

"Crown Prince of the Eastern Sea Kingdom" Yun Qianyue narrowed her eyes before asking again.

"Hn!" The young man responded subconsciously.

"Who are you" Yun Qianyue stared at his face and asked again.

"Luo Yu." The young man murmured softly.

"Who is Luo Yu" Yun Qianyue asked again.

"Luo Yu is just Luo Yu…" The young man mumbled subconsciously.

Yun Qianyue stopped and no longer asked questions. She looked up in the direction Ling Lian had gone, realizing that the one who sent the envoy of the Eastern Sea Kingdom was actually the Crown Prince of the Eastern Sea Kingdom. Judging by this, the envoy should have already arrived at Huaguxian County but got trapped due to heavy rain. The young man must have gotten this information from the Crown Prince and urgently wanted to save him.

"Miss, it turns out that the one who sent the Eastern Sea Kingdom's envoy is actually their Crown Prince! It’s said that the Crown Prince of the Eastern Sea Kingdom has an ethereal appearance, like jade. He’s reputedly the most beautiful man in the kingdom," Yi Xue whispered to Yun Qianyue as she approached her.

Yun Qianyue tilted her head and raised an eyebrow as she looked at Yi Xue. "Didn’t Red Pavilion gather any information about the Eastern Sea Kingdom Where did you hear this rumor from"

"I overheard Senior Elder mention it once." Yi Xue replied softly, “Although Red Pavilion doesn’t collect information on the Eastern Sea Kingdom, Seventh Elder seems to be quite familiar with them. Especially Senior Elder; he appears to hold the Crown Prince of the Eastern Sea Kingdom in high regard. Senior Elder has a very bad temper and never praises anyone. I only heard him praise two people: Viscount Jing and the Crown Prince of the Eastern Sea Kingdom."

"Oh" Yun Qianyue was slightly interested. She had never heard about it before. It seemed like all of Heavenly Saint was completely unaware of the Eastern Sea Kingdom, as if there were an ocean separating them from each other. Almost no news of the Eastern Sea Kingdom reached Heavenly Saint, and since she didn’t pay attention to such matters, she knew almost nothing about the Eastern Sea Kingdom.

"It’s said that this Crown Prince is similar in circumstances to Viscount Jing; Viscount Jing was sealed away due to a great calamity when he was seven years old. This Crown Prince has been bedridden since birth and never leaves his palace grounds. Yet, even without stepping out of the palace, he enjoys the support and love of the Eastern Sea Kingdom’s people. It is said that many policies beneficial to the citizens originated from him. He doesn’t leave the palace but still understands all about the world. There’s a legend in the Eastern Sea Kingdom: obeying the Crown Prince's orders is like obeying the Emperor’s. Even though no one has ever seen this Crown Prince, everyone talks of him as if he were an immortal."

"Haha, quite an interesting person!" Yun Qianyue smiled.

Icy seemed to know only that much and stopped talking. Feeling a bit embarrassed, she said, "This is just hearsay; I don’t actually know anything about it. In any case, this Crown Prince must be very mysterious. People almost never hear his name but always refer to him as the Eastern Sea Kingdom’s Crown Prince."

Yun Qianyue nodded and said, "There's no smoke without fire."

Ling Lian glanced at the sleeping young man and said, "Miss, do you know who he is I think it’s quite remarkable that he knows about the Eastern Sea Kingdom Crown Prince. He must be someone close to him or part of the royal family."

"He's naturally no ordinary person," Yun Qianyue glanced at the young man again with a faint smile.

Icy looked puzzled at Yun Qianyue, sensing that her master probably knew the identity of this youth. Seeing Ling Lian had returned, she stopped talking.

Ling Lian rode closer and whispered to Yun Qianyue, "Miss, Prince Jing indeed went to River Valley County."

"Hn!" Yun Qianyue nodded. Although her guess was accurate, she still wanted confirmation.

"Should we continue our journey, Miss" Ling Lian asked again.

"We won't travel today! Let's rest at Fragrant Drunkenness Tower for the night; otherwise, we'll be exhausted when we reach River Valley County." Yun Qianyue glanced at the sky. It was already dark, and she pointed towards Fragrant Drunkenness Tower.

"Hn!" Ling Lian and Yi Xue nodded. They were also extremely tired, but if Miss insisted on continuing their journey, they could still hold on without collapsing. But by the time they reached River Valley County, who knew whether or not they would be able to stay upright

Yun Qianyue didn't say anything more and rode towards Fragrant Drunkenness Tower.

Upon arriving at Fragrant Drunkenness Tower, Yun Qianyue presented her token. The innkeeper immediately welcomed them upstairs with surprise and respect. Since the youth was still asleep, Yun Qianyue could only carry him up; this left the innkeeper puzzled as he wondered about the boy's status, since his master carried him personally.

Upon reaching the third floor, Yun Qianyue glanced at Room T-2 and asked, "Is someone staying in this room"

The innkeeper shook his head and said after looking at Yun Qianyue, "Someone was here yesterday morning, but they left early today!"

"Ling Lian, Yi Xue, you two stay in Room T-1. I'll be staying in Room T-2 with him." Yun Qianyue instructed.

"Miss" Ling Lian and Yi Xue were taken aback.

"If my guess is correct, Rong Jing should have stayed here," said Yun Qianyue as she pointed at Room T-2.

"That person was indeed Prince Jing!" The innkeeper immediately confirmed.

Ling Lian and Yi Xue immediately understood that their Miss must be thinking about Prince Jing. She even wanted to stay in the same room he did. They nodded, and Ling Lian looked at the boy in Yun Qianyue's hands, "Miss, Room T-2 seems to have two separate rooms. Yi Xue and I will share one room; you can give him to us so that he stays alone in a room while you rest."

"Alright!" Yun Qianyue handed the boy to Ling Lian.

Ling Lian took the boy's hand with Yi Xue and went to Room T-1.

Entering Room T-2, it was neat and clean. A faint fragrance of snow and lotus lingered in the air, and Yun Qianyue quietly breathed it in, feeling her fatigue lessen upon entering the room.

The innkeeper brought hot meals and a bucket for bathing, along with a pot of tea and wine for Yun Qianyue. Everything was done meticulously without needing to be told beforehand; once everything was set up, he silently withdrew.

Since leaving the capital, Yun Qianyue had been riding non-stop for over a day and night without rest, thus she was covered in dust. She glanced at the food on the table but proceeded to bathe first, immersing herself in the warm water.

This time, she didn't linger long; after washing up and changing into clean clothes, she sat down for a meal. In no time, half of the dishes were gone when she picked up the wine pot to take a sip. Suddenly, from Room T-1 came a scream. Yun Qianyue immediately put down her drink and rushed out, quickly arriving at Room T-1 where she opened the door with a wave.

Ling Lian and Yi Xue were standing in shock by the youth's bed; Ling Lian had her hand covered while Yi Xue held her shoulder. The naked youth was awake but confusedly looked at them, unaware of what happened.

Yun Qianyue turned away from them to look on the ground where she saw a palm-sized venomous scorpion. Her eyes darkened as she walked in and asked Ling Lian and Yi Xue, "What happened"

Ling Lian and Yi Xue were pale. Seeing Yun Qianyue arrive, they calmed down; Ling Lian explained, "After placing him here, we went for a bath. We returned quickly and were about to wake him up when we saw this venomous scorpion crawl onto his body…"

"Where did it sting you two" Yun Qianyue asked.

“This venomous scorpion is very fierce and agile, sensing our presence. I had no choice but to open my hand and hit it; it stung me, while Yi Xue stood behind me and got hit on her arm when I tried to fend it off.” Ling Lian said apologetically.

"I've never seen such a large venomous scorpion. In the panic, I crushed it with my hand but was bitten in return," Yi Xue stated while holding her shoulder and looking pale.

“Take your hands away from you arms so that I can see how serious the situation is,” Yun Qianyue nodded and said to them. Women naturally fear such things, and it wasn't surprising they made a mistake in their panic.

Ling Lian showed her hand; within moments, her entire hand had swollen, with black marks where she was bitten. Yi Xue's arm, even though covered by clothes, left traces of poison on the fabric.

"Poisonous!" Yun Qianyue's expression changed.

Ling Lian and Yi Xue hurriedly tried to use their internal energy upon hearing this.

"You can't use your inner energy. This kind of poisonous scorpion must be raised by someone specifically, and it’s usually fed with a very potent poison. The more you use your inner energy, the faster the poison spreads." As she spoke, Yun Qianyue reached into her bosom and pulled out a bottle to pour two pills for Ling Lian and Yi Xue, instructing them, "Take these quickly!"

The two of them immediately took the medicine.

"This medicine can only suppress the poison but it’s not an antidote. I don't have any antidotes either, so this type of poison cannot be cured. It looks like we need to set off at night and chase after Rong Jing; he surely has a solution." Yun Qianyue said.

The two immediately nodded with pale faces.

"Do you three think I’m dead" The young man was startled by this point, took one glance at the dead scorpion on the ground, frowned in regret and said, "A scorpion of such a size requires many years to raise. And you just crushed it; what a waste!"

"Did it not bite you to death" Yun Qianyue glared at him upon hearing this, somewhat irritated as she said, "Hurry up and set off!"

"Even if it bit me, I wouldn’t be affected. Why don't you ask where I grew up I’ve practically grown up with these kinds of poisons around me; why should I fear one scorpion" The young man snorted in disdain.

Yun Qianyue originally was about to leave, but upon hearing this she was delighted and looked at the youth. "Can you cure them from their poisoning"

"Yes!" The young man glanced at Yun Qianyue and gave a definite answer, “I grew up in an environment full of poisons, so a little poison like this won't be able to trouble me.”

Ling Lian and Yi Xue were also overjoyed.

Yun Qianyue let out a sigh of relief. "That's great then! Quickly give them the antidote so we can save time on the journey!"

The youth did not speak, lazily got off his bed and walked to the desk, where he took a look at the Xuan paper and ink set before him and instructed Yun Qianyue, "Come and grind some ink for me."

Yun Qianyue followed suit.

The youth looked at Yun Qianyue as she deftly ground the ink and complimented her actions, saying, "I never expected that a woman like you would know about such refined activities as grinding ink for your master. This makes you seem very feminine."

Yun Qianyue rolled her eyes at him and returned the prepared ink to him, urging him, "Quickly!"

The youth rolled up his sleeves, picked up a brush, and began writing.

About this time, the innkeeper rushed upstairs with some people in tow. It was likely that they had heard Ling Lian's scream from earlier; upon arriving at the room and seeing Yun Qianyue standing there unharmed, he let out a sigh of relief and cautiously asked her, "Master, did something happen"

"A scorpion!" Yun Qianyue pointed to the ground.

The innkeeper saw the huge crushed scorpion on the floor and his expression changed as he said in disbelief, “This… how could there be a scorpion here”

Yun Qianyue looked at him. "I also want to know what’s going on!"

"Although no one has been staying in this room for quite some time, it is cleaned daily; just this morning it had been done…", the innkeeper said with a pale face: “This Drunken Fragrance Pavilion has never seen such creatures before…”

"Someone must have snuck this scorpion into your place while you weren’t paying attention," Yun Qianyue said coolly. She believed that Wind Pavilion and Drunken Fragrance Pavilion were all her people, united in heart and mind, and the organizational system she established was one of mutual supervision; they would also trust her privately without question. It was impossible for this kind of betrayal from within to occur. Therefore, it could only be someone else who had planned something malicious against her.

And every time she went out of town, she stayed in room number 1 at Drunken Fragrance Pavilion, never trying to hide herself, so those with ulterior motives placing such items in room number one to harm her was not impossible. But just because of Rong Jing’s relationship today, she moved into room two, resulting in injuries for Ling Lian and Yi Xue.

Combining it with the ambush last night, this must be a follow-up move from that ambush.

"I’m at fault! I let Master suffer such an alarm. Please punish me!" The innkeeper immediately knelt down upon hearing this; he indeed was negligent in his duties. His master clearly needed rest after traveling non-stop but faced something like this instead; he could not shirk responsibility.

"It’s not your fault! Even the sages are sometimes careless! From now on, give orders for everyone to thoroughly search every inch of Drunken Fragrance Pavilion. If someone suspicious is found, don’t let them go," Yun Qianyue waved her hand dismissively.

"Yes! I'll go right away!" The shopkeeper immediately stood up.

The young man put down his pen and pushed the prescription to Yun Qianyue, saying, "Here you go. Go get the medicine now and take it as soon as possible, and everything will be fine!"

Yun Qianyue took a look at the prescription and nodded. Seeing Ling Lian and Yi Xue like this, she could not fetch the medicine herself, so she called out to the shopkeeper and handed him the prescription, saying, "Go get the medicine now! Hurry up!"

"Yes!" The shopkeeper took the prescription and hurried away.

The young man turned around and walked towards the poisonous scorpion. Squatting down in front of it, he said with a regretful expression, "Such a fine big scorpion is ruined like this. This thing is a treasure; my precious collection doesn't have such a large one. What a pity."

Yun Qianyue glanced at him and let out an exasperated sigh, saying, "Who asked you to sleep and not wake up If you were awake, they wouldn't have gotten injured trying to save you."

The young man snorted with a tone of complaint, "If it weren't for your reckless rush through the night, would I have slept so soundly"

"Wouldn't I be recklessly rushing if I didn't go to rescue someone" Yun Qianyue rebutted.

"Right, where are we now" The young man asked upon hearing this.

"In Luo Shui City!" said Yun Qianyue.

“So we’ve reached Luo Shui City! Where’s Rong Jing” the young man couldn’t help but wonder when he didn't see him.

Yun Qianyue shook her head and sat down on a chair, saying, "He's not in Luo Shui City!"

"How long have I been sleeping" The youth took out a handkerchief to wrap up the dead poisonous scorpion and then asked.

Yun Qianyue replied, “A day!”

"So we traveled from the capital for one and a half days and another night" The young man stood up and looked at Yun Qianyue. Seeing her nod, he glanced at the sky and said, "If we rest here tonight, can we reach River Valley County by tomorrow evening"

Yun Qianyue replied, “That’s correct!”

"This calculation is indeed accurate! Yun Qianyue, you’re amazing," the young man praised her happily.

The river valley county suffered a more severe flood than here. There were landslides and roadblocks, with widespread flooding that cut off nearly all contact with the outside world. "You should be concerned about the person you're trying to save!" Yun Qianyue couldn’t help but hit him when she saw his happy smile.

The young man stiffened; his face paled as he asked, “It’s that serious”

Yun Qianyue nodded in confirmation.

The youth frowned and seemed to be thinking about something for a moment before waving it off and saying with certainty, "He must be fine! Nothing can trouble him. A small River Valley County and one flood are nothing."

“If you trust him so much, why did you rush here to save him” Yun Qianyue asked coolly.

"Of course I have to come! I need to show my concern for him; otherwise, he will be angry with me for running away. When can I come if not now Otherwise, if he really gets mad at me, it would cause a lot of trouble. He definitely will make me..." The youth rolled his eyes and rambled on for a moment before remembering that the person listening was Yun Qianyue, immediately stopping himself and saying, "Why am I telling you this You don’t need to care why I rushed here to save him! It's just what I wanted to do; it has nothing to do with you."

"It is unrelated to me. Just remember the conditions you promised me!" Yun Qianyue said in a bland tone.

The youth snorted but didn't speak.

Soon, the shopkeeper returned panting and carrying a bag of medicine. He nervously told Yun Qianyue, "Master, one ingredient is missing: dragon money fruit. This kind of medicinal herb is very rare; small shops usually can’t afford to stock it. Only two of the largest shops in Luo Shui City have them. But both shopkeepers said that they originally had ten catties of dragon money fruit but sold out at noon today to a masked person."

Yun Qianyue’s expression turned cold as she looked towards the youth and asked, "What if there's no dragon money fruit Can it be replaced with another medicine"

The young man frowned. Looking at the bag of medicine in the shopkeeper's hand and then glancing at Ling Lian and Yi Xue’s pale faces, he suddenly waved his hand and said, "Forget it, forget it. I will use my remaining two precious medicines."

Yun Qianyue was stunned, "You have the antidote"

The young man reached into his chest and pulled out a very exquisite bottle. He reluctantly threw it to Ling Lian and grumbled, "It's not an antidote for this poison, but it is much more useful than any antidote—it’s life-saving medicine. It’s hard to find one in the world, so I really don’t want to give it up. But seeing how they kindly saved me, I’ll give them some!"

Ling Lian reached out and took the bottle, then looked at Yun Qianyue.

Seeing the young man's reluctance, Yun Qianyue thought he was probably telling the truth; otherwise, he wouldn’t have been so unwilling to give it up. But in her opinion, even the best medicine wasn't worth a person’s life. So she told Ling Lian, who was looking at her, "Since that's the case, you should take them as soon as possible!"

Ling Lian nodded and opened the bottle. A fragrant smell immediately wafted out. The familiar scent of Heavenly Mountain Snow Lotus made Yun Qianyue pause. Ling Lian and Yixue were also taken aback. Both of them looked at the young man, who waved his hand in dismissal. Thus, Ling Lian and Yixue took out the medicine from inside and each swallowed a pill.

"I’m starving to death! I want food!" The young man plopped himself onto the table and started eating ravenously with chopsticks.

Seeing that Ling Lian and Yixue had taken the Heavenly Mountain Snow Lotus, Yun Qianyue knew they would be fine. She told them, "You should rest as soon as you finish your meal! We’ll set off at three o’clock in the morning."

"Yes, Miss!" Ling Lian and Yixue nodded simultaneously, feeling somewhat guilty for not having been of any help to their mistress during the journey, only causing her trouble. They had traveled too far without rest, and because they were staying at the Drunken Fragrance Building in Feng Pavilion, they had let down their guard and fallen into a trap. However, they did learn from this experience; no matter where they went next time, they would be more careful.

"You don’t need to feel guilty—just take what you’ve learned to heart!" Yun Qianyue left after dropping that line. Ling Lian and Yixue were professionals trained in Hong Pavilion, usually very cautious. But no one could avoid making mistakes sometimes, especially when the other side was in hiding while they were in plain sight.

The innkeeper followed Yun Qianyue out of Room 1 of Heavenly Numbered Rooms and whispered, "Master, should I thoroughly investigate this matter"

"Investigate!" Yun Qianyue’s voice was cold. “Find out who bought the medicine and then follow them to their source! Inform me as soon as you find out; don’t take any actions yourself and try not to alert anyone.”

“Yes!” The innkeeper immediately responded.

Yun Qianyue returned to Room 2 of Heavenly Numbered Rooms. She took a look around, clearly noting that the room had been thoroughly searched by the innkeeper and his people earlier. She walked straight to her bed and lay down. The faint, familiar scent still lingered in the air. Although she was very tired from her journey, she wasn’t sleepy at all. It took her quite a while before she finally fell asleep.

At three o’clock in the morning, Yun Qianyue woke up and pushed open the door of Room 2 of Heavenly Numbered Rooms to find Ling Lian, Yixue, and the young man waiting outside. She glanced at them all and saw their hands were already healed; she didn’t speak, but headed downstairs with them following behind.

Outside the Drunken Fragrance Building, Yun Qianyue mounted her horse and was about to ride away when the young man grabbed her arm and stood under her horse. He said, "You have to take me along."

"You haven’t rested enough after sleeping for so long" Yun Qianyue raised an eyebrow.

“No!” The young man replied firmly.

"Not possible! You should ride your own horse!" Yun Qianyue refused.

"Yun Qianyue, I could have kept my precious medicine and not given it to your maidservants! We could have ridden through the night until we reached another city. If there was no medicine available in that city, then your two servants would die. But I still gave you the medicine—only because of your face." The young man looked up at Yun Qianyue and said indignantly, "Besides, I slept too much yesterday afternoon and couldn’t sleep last night. Now I’m very tired and can’t ride a horse."

Yun Qianyue looked at the young man who did indeed look quite sleepy. She noticed Ling Lian and Yixue had already mounted their horses. Reluctantly, she stretched out her hand and said, "Get on then!"

The young man was delighted and placed his hand in Yun Qianyue’s.

Yun Qianyue pulled him onto the horse with one tug. The young man adjusted himself into a comfortable position, leaned against Yun Qianyue's chest, closed his eyes, and seemed to be getting ready to take a nap. Yun Qianyue glanced at him, then kicked her horse’s belly, urging it to leave the Drunken Fragrance Building.

Ling Lian and Yixue spurred their horses to follow behind.

After resting overnight, both people and horses had recovered well. The three horses galloped at a great speed without any obstacles on the road. They arrived in Meiling Mountain River Valley County by noon.
