Chapter 37 No More Running Away
ince’s return and the Crown Prince no longer favored by the Emperor, if the Crown Prince shows weakness and does not wish to compete for the throne, his downfall might be imminent." Rong Jing glanced...Chapter 37 No More Running Away
The population of River Valley County was around ten thousand people. In such heavy rain, houses collapsed and landslides occurred in the mountains; yet everyone managed to evacuate safely with almost no casualties. Wasn't this a miracle
What's even more remarkable is that Jade Prince was from Donghai Kingdom. For Tian Sheng’s officials and civilians to trust him so quickly despite the potential conflict of interest between their countries, and for them to wholeheartedly support him without hesitation, is not something ordinary people could accomplish. Now the people of River Valley County are extremely grateful to Jade Prince and even want to build a temple for him to receive offerings. However, he politely declined.
Qiange continued, with admiration in her voice: "Since ancient times, there have been two types of people who are worshipped - either they're gods or ghosts. Since he's human, naturally he doesn't want such things."
The corners of Yun Qianyue’s mouth curved into a slight smile as she said, "From ancient times, those who are enshrined and worshiped are either deities or spirits. He is a person, so naturally he wouldn’t want these offerings."
Qiange chuckled and turned to look at Yun Qianyue: "When Jade Prince was asked about this back then, he gave the same answer. I thought that if you weren't just arriving and hadn't met Jade Prince before, you must have been familiar with him from a long time ago! You even said the exact same thing."
The smile on Yun Qianyue's lips faded.
Qiange didn’t notice the change in Yun Qianyue’s expression and turned back to say, "Fortunately, Jade Prince happened to be in River Valley County when this heavy rain fell. He treats Tian Sheng’s people so well; it's no wonder he is loved by everyone in Donghai Kingdom. Before, I thought that treating Jade Prince with the same respect as a prince was just talk, but there really are such people."
Yun Qianyue remained silent.
Qiange seemed to realize she had talked too much and that talking about other men in front of her own master’s fiancée might get her into trouble. She quickly stopped talking.
The two walked forward, one behind the other.
"Miss Yun Qianyue, just ahead is the county government office!" After walking for a while, Qiange turned to look at Yun Qianyue and pointed ahead.
Yun Qianyue followed the direction of Qiange's finger and saw that not far ahead was a high gate courtyard. The main gate was higher than usual homes, with stone lions in front of it, and on top of the door read "River Valley County Government Office" in large characters; inside, lights were shining brightly. She nodded and said, "Let’s go then! Let's see what your master is doing."
"Although Jade Prince saved the people of River Valley County, the damage caused by the flood was too severe for him to handle everything. As a prince of Donghai Kingdom, he can't deal with Tian Sheng’s citizens’ disaster relief documents and subsequent resettlement matters. These things have to be handled by your master." Qiange continued: "Since arriving here, your master has been busy non-stop, not even getting a chance to drink water for half a day. Rebuilding houses, ensuring the comfort of victims, repairing roads... I'm worried that if he continues like this, his health will suffer."
Yun Qianyue frowned: "Such matters can't be completed in just one or two days!"
"Yes, Miss Yun. When you go in and see your master, please take him back to rest immediately! I don’t understand why he still came here even though he thinks about you every day and wishes you were by his side. Some things can be left for others to do; it’s not as if a few days matter." Qiange echoed不解地附和道。
Yun Qianyue paused in her steps. Didn't anyone else understand Rong Jing, but she did This man... In his eyes, the welfare of all the people is important, yet none outweighed her. Now that she had just arrived, he was here at the government office, some things were beyond her understanding. She nodded: "Alright, I’ll bring him back."
Qiange didn’t speak anymore, sensing something wrong with Rong Jing since his arrival in River Valley County, yet unable to tell what it was. She couldn’t figure it out.
Upon arriving at the government office, the guards outside recognized Qiange and allowed her and Yun Qianyue to enter without stopping them despite their confusion.
The interior of the government office was brightly lit.
The moment Yun Qianyue entered, she could clearly see about a dozen officials in the main hall, with one man dressed in moon-white brocade standing in the middle. Everyone kept three feet away from him; he was speaking while pointing at a desk map of River Valley County’s terrain, and all the officials were listening intently, though tired-looking but respectful.
Yun Qianyue entered quietly, the officials didn’t notice her arrival. Rong Jing, however, lifted his head and looked towards the door when he heard someone enter. Seeing Yun Qianyue, a light flickered in his eyes.
The crowd had their attention on Rong Jing and followed his gaze to the entrance; upon seeing Yun Qianyue, they were all stunned by her beauty.
Yun Qianyue didn’t immediately enter but leaned lazily against the doorframe, smiling at Rong Jing without speaking.
"Why are you here" Instead of coming over, Rong Jing’s face showed warmth as he asked Yun Qianyue.
Yun Qianyue waved her hand and said with a smile: "I just came to check on you! You continue your work; I’ll wait for you here. Don’t mind me."
Rong Jing glanced at her, then surveyed the surroundings briefly before his gaze returned to the desk map. He rubbed his forehead and continued addressing the officials with a soft voice: "Let's keep going!"
The officials nodded in agreement, quickly returning their attention to him.
Rong Jing pointed at various parts of River Valley County’s terrain map on the table as he made arrangements. Just like before Yun Qianyue appeared, every detail was meticulously planned out with no room for error.
The crowd did not need to interrupt; they only needed to listen and execute.
Yun Qianyue looked at Rong Jing, her gaze fixed on his face. From where she was standing, he was half-turned towards her, elegant and refined like jade. She remembered the first time she saw him after regaining consciousness from starting the Phoenix劫 (calamity), when he had been partially obscured by an umbrella, which reminded her of the phrase "a man like jade walking on the roadside, unparalleled in this world." Regardless of time or place, this person naturally exuded nobility and grace; every encounter with him left her heart racing. Especially now, even though before him was just a small map of River Valley County, it gave her the feeling of commanding vast territories, which stirred her heart even more.
Perhaps Yun Qianyue's gaze was too dreamy, causing Rong Jing to raise his head and look at her again.
Yun Qianyue’s face turned slightly red; her long eyelashes fell, covering her eyes.
Rong Jing suddenly chuckled softly. His laughter sounded particularly pleasant in the silence. He looked at Yun Qianyue with a warm smile and gentle tone, "Yun Qianyue, you've been staring at me for quite some time. Tell me what you see on my face"
Hearing this, everyone was surprised and turned to look at Yun Qianyue. Rumors about Lady Shallow Moon of the Cloud Manor spread all over the world; now they had finally met her in person. They couldn’t help but think that these rumors were deceiving—this woman was clearly graceful and beautiful, not at all arrogant or domineering as described. If Prince Regent Jing hadn't spoken, many would have believed she was a princess from East Sea Kingdom.
"There's a big peach blossom on your face!" Yun Qianyue blushed and glared at Rong Jing. This person speaking like this clearly wanted to inform everyone about her identity and their relationship.
"Is that so Why does it look like there’s a big peach blossom on your face" Rong Jing looked at Yun Qianyue's rosy cheeks, smiling as he raised an eyebrow, utterly unconcerned with the dozen officials present. He casually spoke these words from his thin lips.
Yun Qianyue turned her head away, a bit embarrassed and indignant, "I don't know you."
"Knowing me is enough!" Rong Jing chuckled again, moving his hand off the table map that he had been pointing at. He then said to everyone, "Let's end today’s arrangements here! Did everyone understand"
Everyone hurriedly responded in agreement. They thought Prince Regent Jing hadn’t smiled for two days since arriving; although he seemed approachable, he was actually quite distant. They had believed he wouldn't smile but now saw a different side of him.
"Since everyone understands, let's proceed accordingly and do our best," Rong Jing stroked his already spotless sleeves and walked towards Yun Qianyue.
The crowd quickly made way for him.
Rong Jing reached Yun Qianyue, took her hand, and stepped out. She glanced at everyone with a slightly blushing face and allowed Rong Jing to lead the way outside.
Outside in the courtyard, Rong Jing turned his head to look at Yun Qianyue’s still red face and teased, "I didn't know there were peach blossoms blooming this season."
"That's your ignorance!" Yun Qianyue glared back at him. "If there can be autumn begonias, why not autumn peach blossoms"
"Huh… that’s true!" Rong Jing chuckled and nodded in agreement, the laughter emanating from his chest although silent, clearly real.
Yun Qianyue looked up at the sky, staring into the dark expanse for a moment before muttering something unclearly.
"Hmm" Rong Jing raised an eyebrow.
She withdrew her gaze and suddenly turned to embrace Rong Jing with a childish tone, "Rong Jing, you’re really cute."
Rong Jing's lips twitched; he smiled at her face as she looked up. "Are you complimenting me"
"Yes!" Yun Qianyue nodded.
"Then I’ll take it as a compliment," Rong Jing didn’t push her away but continued walking, the two of them entwined like a single rope, despite the difficulty making their movement very harmonious.
"What does taking it as a compliment mean It’s originally a compliment." Yun Qianyue sounded somewhat dissatisfied and inserted another hand into his chest.
"What are you doing Do you want to molest me now" Rong Jing grabbed her hand, reminding her with a smile. "We're still inside the government office!"
Yun Qianyue rolled her eyes and finally pulled her hand back.
Rong Jing smiled but didn’t speak further, holding both of Yun Qianyue's hands, one large and one small, their fingers intertwined.
Xiang Ge lit the lanterns ahead as he walked, thinking that Miss Shallow Moon really had a way about her. She came to the government office without saying anything, and Prince Regent Jing obediently followed her back. It was truly discouraging for him who reminded the prince daily to rest.
"How many days will it take to restore River Valley County" Cloud Qianyue asked softly, noticing people still working day and night during the night shift.
"At least half a month," Rong Jing replied.
"So you'll be staying here for another half month" Cloud Qianyue raised her eyebrows.
"That's right! In other places, proper drainage and resettling the displaced people are enough. But here, most of the houses have been destroyed. This is the worst place, so I can't leave unless I handle it properly," Rong Jing said.
"Alright then. The mountains and rivers here are beautiful, with an extremely pleasant environment far away from the hustle and bustle of the capital city. It's a quiet place where we could enjoy some peace. I'll stay here for half a month to accompany you," Cloud Qianyue said after thinking about it, understanding that Rong Jing couldn't leave anytime soon.
"Yes!" Rong Jing smiled and nodded.
Cloud Qianyue didn't say anything more. They returned to the courtyard where Rong Jing was staying.
Entering the room, Cloud Qianyue saw that Rong Jing had gone behind a screen to bathe and change clothes. She lazily snuggled into a soft couch, listening to the occasional sounds of water coming from behind the screen. Her heart beat slightly as she closed her eyes to enjoy this moment of tranquility.
Not long after, Rong Jing emerged from behind the screen. Cloud Qianyue opened her eyes and saw that he had taken off his moon-white brocade robe, wearing only a loose soft robe with two buttons left unfastened at his neck. Her gaze flickered as she pointed accusingly at him, "You undressed me!"
Rong Jing paused in his step, raising an eyebrow at Cloud Qianyue.
"Undressed me"
“Yes, you did!” Cloud Qianyue affirmed. Such a scene of a beautiful person emerging from the bath couldn't be anything other than undressing!
Rong Jing walked to where Cloud Qianyue was lounging on the soft couch. Seeing her face flushed and her eyes staring brightly at his unbuttoned neck, he blinked and suddenly bent down to pick her up horizontally, walking towards the large bed.
Cloud Qianyue’s heart pounded rapidly.
Rong Jing placed her on the bed, hovering over her. He looked down at her, and she stared back at him. After a moment of mutual gaze, Rong Jing suddenly rolled onto his side next to her, pulling her into an embrace. He sighed softly and said, "We can have a good sleep tonight."
Cloud Qianyue turned over to look at him with closed eyes, asking in a low voice, "Can't you be even more tired"
Rong Jing patted her gently upon hearing this. "I could indeed be more tired, but you cannot be anymore exhausted!"
"... Actually, I can also be a bit more exhausted," Cloud Qianyue said in a low voice, blushing.
“I don't want to see you feverish again and have to take care of you for days with the whole room smelling of medicine.” Rong Jing spoke somewhat disdainfully.
Cloud Qianyue rolled her eyes, adjusting herself into a comfortable position in his arms, murmuring as she listened to his faint scent, "You're turning down free offerings. See when you'll change your mind... but don't hold back too much..."
Rong Jing's face darkened momentarily and he grinded his teeth before saying, “I won’t! I have to fatten you up a bit; otherwise, I really won’t have any appetite.”
"You're such a bad guy!" Cloud Qianyue couldn't help but mimic Luo Yu's words towards Rong Jing. She thought this statement was spot-on; Rong Jing was indeed a bad guy. Did she look so unappetizing to him This made her feel indignant.
Rong Jing, seeing that he had regained the upper hand, patted her gently with a soft tone, "Be good and sleep! You're too exhausted!"
“Okay!” Cloud Qianyue’s indignation dissipated under his gentle words. She nodded obediently and closed her eyes.
The two of them didn't say anything more.
Cloud Qianyue was so tired that she soon fell into a deep, peaceful sleep in Rong Jing's arms with even breathing.
Rong Jing opened his eyes and tilted his head to look at the person in his embrace. His gaze contained tenderness, love, softness, warmth, and an indescribable emotion which gradually unfolded. After some time, he tightened his grip on her waist as he spoke softly, "Is it him"
His voice was so low that it almost disappeared as soon as it left his lips.
Cloud Qianyue didn't move and slept soundly.
Rong Jing slowly loosened his grip, closed his eyes, and a hint of bitterness seemed to appear on the corners of his lips. Just as this faint bitterness emerged from his lips, Yun Qianyue suddenly snuggled closer to him, her arms wrapping around his waist in an infinitely dependent pose, mumbling something. Rong Jing was taken aback, lowered his head to listen carefully; all he could hear was her shallow breathing. But even so, the sentence she uttered became clear to him in such silence. She said, "Rong Jing, I miss you." The bitterness on his lips vanished, replaced by a warm smile. He patted her body and gently replied, "I miss you too."
Yun Qianyue seemed to have heard this sentence as well; a smile appeared at the corners of her mouth, and her breathing became even deeper.
Rong Jing also closed his eyes and soon fell asleep.
The next day, when Yun Qianyue woke up, she opened her eyes to find no one beside her. She reached out to touch the blanket which was already cold. Lying still, she looked out of the window through a sheer curtain; it was an uncommonly sunny day. This was the first clear day in over ten days; although the rain had stopped earlier, the sky remained gloomy. Staring at窗外許久,她才懶洋洋地坐起身下了床。
Opening the door, sunlight enveloped her warmly. She shielded her eyes from the sun and squinted upwards.
"Miss Yun Qianyue, you're awake" Xuan Ge had been guarding in the courtyard all along; upon seeing Yun Qianyue open the door, she hurried over to ask.
"Where is your Young Master" Yun Qianyue asked Xuan Ge.
"Young Master left for the river embankment very early this morning!" Xuan Ge replied. "I was instructed by him to inform you once you wake up, and he suggested that if you're not too tired, you could join him at the river embankment."
"Is the river far from here" Yun Qianyue asked.
"It's a bit far; it would take about ten to fifteen miles," Xuan Ge said.
Yun Qianyue thought for a moment, stretched her waist, still feeling lazy. But she didn't want to stay alone in the room. She told Xuan Ge, "After I have breakfast, could you please take me to the river embankment"
"Yes!" Xuan Ge nodded readily.
Yun Qianyue returned to her room; Ling Lian and Yi Xue entered. After she washed up and had a light meal that was neither too early nor late, she walked out of the door and just reached the courtyard gate when she ran into the young man Luo Yu, who had come in. While walking, he sneezed continuously with a handkerchief in his hand; his nose was red from wiping it. She raised her eyebrows and asked before he could speak: "Are you sick"
The young man snorted angrily, "It's all because of that bad guy Rong Jing! I caught a cold!"
"Who told you to provoke him! I warned you long ago not to listen," Yun Qianyue glanced at him with amusement.
"That’s because Brother Zishu is not here. If Brother Zishu were here, he would definitely protect me from Rong Jing." The young man glared at Yun Qianyue.
"If I were you, I would learn to be smarter and stay away from him. Even if Brother Zishu were around, he wouldn't hesitate in dealing with Rong Jing." As Yun Qianyue spoke, she untied the reins of a horse tied to a pillar and mounted it.
The young man immediately grabbed Yun Qianyue’s reins and asked, "Where are you going Back to the capital"
"No, I am heading to the river embankment," Yun Qianyue replied.
“Why go there” The young man frowned but continued brightly: “Did you see Brother Zishu yesterday Is he really as good as what I told you” Seeing that Yun Qianyue didn’t respond, he said immediately: "I knew it! You must not have seen him. That bad guy Rong Jing naturally wouldn't let you see such a handsome man like Brother Zishu."
Yun Qianyue smiled faintly and remained silent.
"Let’s go, I will take you to meet Brother Zishu!" The young man reached out his hand to grab Yun Qianyue, intending to pull her off the horse.
“Why should I see him” Yun Qianyue avoided the young man's grasp and sat steadily on top of the horse without moving.
"What do you mean" The young man frowned. "You don’t want to meet Brother Zishu"
"No, I don't," Yun Qianyue replied indifferently.
“Then are you afraid that after seeing Brother Zishu, you'll fall in love with him because he’s so good” The young man looked at Yun Qianyue dubiously and continued: "Indeed, every woman who has seen Brother Zishu ends up liking him."
Yun Qianyue found it amusing to look at the young man but still remained silent.
"Didn't you ask me for help in breaking off the engagement with Donghai and Rong王府 I promised to help, that's true. But this also requires Brother Zishu’s assistance. I don’t have such authority; as a crown prince, his words are law in Donghai Kingdom, and a decree from him is tantamount to an imperial edict. This matter would be resolved with just one word of his. If you do not see him, how can I help you break the engagement" The young man looked up at Yun Qianyue.
"This matter doesn't need to be rushed," Yun Qianyue shook her head, "Let's talk about it later!"
The young man frowned. "I'm not a man who goes back on his word. Since I've promised you, of course I'll try my best to do it quickly so that you won't say I am a person who goes back on their words."
"You can rest assured! I wouldn't say such things!" Yun Qianyue shook her head and changed the subject. "Is this the only reason why you came here"
"Of course not! Otherwise, do you think that I would still come out to play even when I'm sick" The young man gave Yun Qianyue a glance.
"Alright, I understand, go back and rest! Anyway, you're going to the capital city soon, there's plenty of time." Yun Qianyue pulled away from the young man's hand, left a sentence behind, kicked her horse into a gallop, and ran out.
Three people immediately got on their horses - Xuan Ge, Ling Lian, and Yi Xue - and followed after Yun Qianyue as she left the courtyard door.
"Hey, Yun Qianyue!" The young man didn't expect Yun Qianyue to pull away from him and leave so abruptly. He stood at the door and shouted loudly.
Yun Qianyue pretended not to hear him, turned her head around, and sped on horseback out of this street alley.
The young man stamped his foot in annoyance as he glared roundly in the direction Yun Qianyue had gone off towards.
After leaving a street, Yun Qianyue slightly pulled back her reins to wait for Xuan Ge who was following up behind her and said, "Lead the way!"
Xuan Ge nodded his head, took the lead as he led the way ahead. He didn't urge on his horse but turned around curiously to ask Yun Qianyue, "Miss Yun Qianyue, did Lu Yue really agree that he'll help resolve the engagement between Eastern Sea Kingdom and the Prince of Honor王府?
"Yes!" Yun Qianyue nodded her head.
“That's great! If they can dissolve the engagement for His Highness, you will be closer to him again." Xuan Ge said happily. "Although there is an emperor in Eastern Sea Kingdom, it’s rumored that he has actually been deprived of his power these years and now only reigns as a Retired Emperor. The Prince of Jade holds all the real power. If the Prince of Jade speaks up about it, dissolving the engagement truly can be done with just one sentence."
Yun Qianyue glanced at Xuan Ge but didn't say anything.
"Miss Yun Qianyue, I know where the Prince of Jade is staying. Should I bring you there" Xuan Ge turned around and spurred his horse a few steps ahead then suddenly said, "Lu Yue was right; since he's agreed to this now, if you don’t go see him at this moment, who knows what will happen later He could change his mind."
Yun Qianyue frowned slightly as she seemed lost in thought before telling Xuan Ge, "Let’s find your master first!"
Xuan Ge, thinking that the matter also concerned His Highness, agreed that it was better to have His Highness take action himself. He nodded his head and immediately led the way.
After leaving the city gates and traveling about ten miles, they arrived at a riverbank where many people were repairing the dike. Among them stood an exceptionally eye-catching white figure. Xuan Ge wanted to urge on his horse but Yun Qianyue stopped him with her voice, "Your master is busy right now. Let’s wait for him to finish before going over there and not disturb him."
Xuan Ge looked at the officials surrounding His Highness and pulled back his reins as he nodded.
Although Ling Lian and Yi Xue had hurried out, they didn’t forget to bring an umbrella since it was extremely hot today. Ling Lian got close to Yun Qianyue and opened the umbrella for her.
Yun Qianyue reached out to take it, one hand holding the horse's reins while the other held the umbrella as she watched the busy figures by the dike. There were many people but they worked in an orderly manner without any chaos.
Rong Jing was originally facing away from them but now turned around to look towards this side and met Yun Qianyue’s gaze. The officials beside him also turned around to look at this direction. After a moment, Rong Jing turned back around and continued talking with the officials.
Yun Qianyue just looked at him. No matter if it was one person or ten thousand people, she was sure that she could see Rong Jing in the crowd right away regardless of the moon white brocade robe he wore.
After about a stick of incense time, Rong Jing walked over here.
Yun Qianyue jumped off her horse and didn’t go up to greet him but waited for him to come closer.
Rong Jing came near. He looked at Yun Qianyue and smiled at her, "You look well!"
"Why didn't you wake me up this morning If you had, I would have come with you!" Yun Qianyue took a step forward, held the umbrella over Rong Jing's head to cover both of them.
“It wouldn’t be worth waking you if you don’t get up.” Rong Jing reached out and smoothed down a strand of hair that had been blown by the wind across Yun Qianyue’s forehead. He then held her hand, lightly pulling on it to make both of them sit upright on horseback at once. With one arm he pulled in Yun Qianyue while with his other hand he grabbed the reins.
"Left" Yun Qianyue was stunned.
"He left!" Rong Jing nodded.
"Are you done here" Yun Qianyue glanced at the dyke, noticing that everyone had stopped their work and were looking over. She asked in surprise.
"They can't do a good job without you here!" As Rong Jing spoke, he urged his horse to turn back.
"So it was me causing trouble" Yun Qianyue smiled and grabbed Rong Jing's hand, saying, "Then I'll go rest. I won't disturb your work here anymore. Otherwise, someone might report you for not properly managing the flood control."
"No matter where you are, as long as you're around, it's trouble to me." Rong Jing smiled gently and said, "Let’s go!"
Yun Qianyue didn’t say anything more. She closed her umbrella and leaned against Rong Jing.
Rong Jing did not urge his horse to a faster pace; he rode slowly. The wind carried by the stallion gently blew their clothes and hair, intertwining them together.
They didn’t speak as they returned to the city gate.
Yun Qianyue looked at the city gate before her and suddenly turned back, looking seriously at Rong Jing and said, "Rong Jing, I want to see him!"
Rong Jing’s grip on the reins tightened as he pulled in his horse and lowered his head to look at Yun Qianyue.
"You should know who I'm talking about," Yun Qianyue looked into Rong Jing's eyes, her gaze unusually clear without any cloudiness or other emotions. She said seriously, "I just want to see him; I don't want to run away anymore."
Rong Jing remained silent, his expression unreadable.
"You returned to the city so early with me. Did you also intend to take me to see him If my guess is right, you must have already thought about it a long time ago! But I think I should be the one to bring it up first; I want you to know that this isn't because of your magnanimity but from what lies deep in my heart. You and I both know that this is an obstacle blocking my path. If we can’t overcome this hurdle, we will always feel a thorn in our throat. I am clear about how much I love you; precisely because I love you do I want to break through it." Yun Qianyue said earnestly, "I want to cherish and love you well from now on, with no one else in my heart."
Rong Jing continued looking at Yun Qianyue without speaking.
Yun Qianyue's gaze did not leave Rong Jing’s eyes as she waited silently. After a long time, seeing that he still didn’t say anything, she pursed her lips slightly and said softly, "If you don't want me to see him, or if I guessed wrong, just tell me; then I won’t go."
Rong Jing suddenly closed his eyes and said softly, "Yun Qianyue, how important is he in your heart Important enough that even without seeing his face, you can be so certain it’s him from hearing only his voice"
Yun Qianyue's body trembled as she said seriously, "There’s a kind of affection above all others. The tacit understanding between us falls into this category; it transcends the cycle of life and death, even just a hint of presence."
Rong Jing stiffened slightly.
"I’m that type of person. I met him when I was born in another world, entangled with such feelings ever since. After coming to this world, these feelings accompanied me from birth, implanted deeply into my soul. This emotion is a part of my life, something the entire world can't understand; maybe you’d even think I’m a monster. But what can be done This is who I am! Without him, there wouldn’t have been the present Yun Qianyue," Yun Qianyue said softly.
"Yun Qianyue, do you know how exhausting it is to love you" Rong Jing suddenly whispered.
Yun Qianyue’s expression changed as she reached out and grabbed Rong Jing's hand. Looking at his half-closed eyes, her voice trembled slightly, "You’re tired Do you want to give up on me"
Rong Jing suddenly opened his eyes but remained silent.
"Didn’t you say that no matter what happens in this world or the next, you won't abandon me" Yun Qianyue bit her lip and looked at him. Suddenly, she seized the reins from him and turned their horse back towards the riverbank, angrily saying, "Fine! Who cares No one is more important than you. I'll go with you to fix the dyke if that's what it takes; I’ll cause trouble for you this life long, whether you agree or not."
