Shao Junhe realized that the female shopkeeper's words were a bit excessive, but he is not someone who would be overbearing or aggressive. He thought that she was being sincere and did not want to say anything.
Yan Luoxi sensed that the female shopkeeper was talking to her and raised her head, smiling at the shopkeeper with a gentle smile.
The shopkeeper thought that the girl felt shy and was unwilling to agree. She said a few more courteous words before letting them leave.
Today's weather was pleasant with almost no wind. With Shao Junhe, who has an outstanding appearance, holding Yan Luoxi's hand, and Yan Luoxi carrying a cluster of blooming flowers in her arms, the two walking on the pedestrian street became a beautiful sight in the small town.
Shao Junhe was worried that the gazes from others would make Yan Luoxi uncomfortable. He held her hand and walked out of the town. This ancient-looking town had elegant and tranquil scenery outside its borders, with an observatory garden at the edge of the town featuring a delicate and clean pavilion.
Yan Luoxi seemed to be very interested in this pavilion and entered it without Shao Junhe leading her, standing inside curiously observing everything around her.
The surroundings were surrounded by mountains and water. White-feathered black-plumed cranes played freely among the aquatic plants, circling each other affectionately as if playing or caressing each other, sometimes lifting their necks to call out joyfully with clear voices.
Seeing that Yan Luoxi was still staring at those birds and had no intention of leaving, Shao Junhe worried she might get tired from standing for too long. He took off his expensive suit and laid it on the pavilion chair, letting Yan Luoxi sit down to rest.
Yan Luoxi looked at the cranes with a faint smile playing at her lips, staring intently for quite some time until mist seemed to rise in her eyes. After a while, she inexplicably smiled again.
Sao Junhe saw Yan Luoxi suddenly switch between joy and worry, engrossed in her own thoughts. He tried to engage her by asking, "Luoxi, do you know what kind of bird that is"
Yan Luoxi ignored his words.
"Luoxi, I'll tell you a story about this bird," Sao Junhe sat beside Yan Luoxi, facing the wind to shield her from its gentle strength.
Yan Luoxi remained focused on the crane, ignoring Sao Junhe’s words.
Sao Junhe didn't care if she was listening or not; he continued talking to himself. "They say there's a kind of bird in this world that doesn't have feet. It can only keep flying and flying until it gets tired, then it sleeps in the wind. This bird can only land once in its lifetime, and that is when it dies. Luoxi, do you know what this bird is called"
Yan Luoxi didn't respond to Sao Junhe; she looked up at the sky.
Silence had become a part of her life.
During her vibrant youth and passionate love, no matter how hard she tried, her fate changed dramatically. Only silence and being lost in this endless stillness could help her forget all worries, cease to fear pain, and stop worrying about loss.
Sao Junhe saw that she didn't answer his question and knew she was still lost in her own world. He smiled and waved a hand in front of her face, "Luoxi, I'm asking you. Do you know the name of this bird"
Yan Luoxi continued to gaze blankly at the sky.
Sao Junhe, in a moment of urgency, couldn't help but tousle her hair and half-forced Yan Luoxi to look into his eyes. "Luoxi, I'm talking to you. Did you hear what I just said Please come back to me, okay You can't keep going like this."
Yan Luoxi was startled by Sao Junhe's actions; her gaze towards him was bewildered and helpless, filled with doubt, sorrow, and pitiful charm. Sao Junhe felt remorseful yet compassionate.
"Luoxi, did I scare you Sorry..." Sao Junhe,心疼地伸過手臂攬住顏落夕的肩膀。“我以後再不會這樣了,落夕彆怕……對不起……都是我不對……”
In the tone of gentle care from Sao Junhe, Yan Luoxi's expression gradually stabilized; she leaned her somewhat tired head against his shoulder.
Sao Junhe was unexpectedly moved by this action and felt infinite joy. He cautiously turned to look at Yan Luoxi only to find that she had already closed her eyes.
Yan Luoxi, having been ill for days and feeling both physically and mentally exhausted, hadn't walked in a long while; today's walk had truly tired her out. She fell asleep against Sao Junhe’s shoulder without realizing it.
Sao Junhe could hardly believe his good luck. He gently tightened the embrace around Yan Luoxi's slender shoulders, suddenly feeling that fate was kind to him by granting him this fragile and pitifully delicate Luoxi.
He found the present-day Yan Luoxi more endearing than before; he wanted nothing more than to be with her always, day and night without separation.
Sao Junhe looked at the rising sun and felt the warmth around them. He was convinced that Yan Luoxi wouldn't get cold sleeping beside him for a while. Gently, he stroked away a strand of hair from her cheek.
"Li An, stop it, let me sleep some more," mumbled Yan Luoxi in her sleep; she slightly shook her head and smiled sweetly.
Siao Junhe was surprised and didn't expect Yan Luoxi to say something in her sleep when she was awake, she remained silent.
Seeing the smile at the corner of her mouth, he thought about how she had mentioned Li An's name with a heart-wrenching sigh. How foolish this child named Luoxi is.
Siao Junhe knew that although Li An had dramatically moved on and cruelly declared he no longer wanted Yan Luoxi, there were some memories that could never be erased; he would always occupy a place in Luoxi's heart.
Li An brought about an overwhelming disaster for Yan Luoxi. No one understood the depth of this pain better than Siao Junhe. This kind of harm was like a slow and cruel torture, or a chronic poison that gradually consumed all her happiness, turning a lively and romantic girl into a zombie-like existence.
Thinking about it now made him hate Li An; only an idiot would do such a foolish thing to let go of someone as wonderful as Yan Luoxi.
This sleep was very peaceful for Yan Luoxi. Although the temperature around her wasn’t low, she still felt slightly cold in her dream and woke up suddenly.
She raised her head and looked at her surroundings blankly, then glanced at Siao Junhe sitting beside her. In a daze, she even thought it was time travel and that she had dozed off during her university class.
Moving her body made Siao Junhe notice that she had woken up. Seeing the paleness on her face, he quickly reached out to touch her head, asking worriedly, "Luoxi, are you feeling unwell anywhere"
Yan Luoxi was blank and didn't react.
Siao Junhe seeing this thought she must have been cold. Feeling apologetic, he said, "It's all my fault for not taking good care of you while you're sick; I shouldn’t have let you fall asleep outside. Luoxi, shall we head back"ll home, the words "coming back" were incredibly warm and comforting.Yan Luoxi clung to Zhou Guangtao’s chest like a child, sobbing uncontrollably as if aggrieved by some great injustice. In fact, when...
