"Why didn’t you tell me I would have arranged for my friends there to pick you up. Where are you now Are you safe" Li Yi had always been wary of the Golden Triangle.
"I’ve already arrived at a friend’s place, she’ll take care of me." Ni Xuanyi didn’t dare tell Li Yi about her predicament; she was afraid that he would worry.
Li Yi assumed that Ni Xuanyi meant Meng Meng when she mentioned a friend. He knew that Meng Meng had some influence in the Golden Triangle and, being childhood friends with Ni Xuanyi who grew up together, Meng Meng wouldn’t harm her. This slightly eased Li Yi’s mind, but he still instructed Ni Xuanyi to call him if anything happened, reminding her to take care of herself, and telling her that she should come back after two days…

Ni Xuanyi stared up at the ceiling with big eyes, not thinking about Ruan Zhao's threats but rather Qu Wange calling out to Li Yi. She felt aggrieved and angry being forcibly kept by Ruan Zhao; she really wanted to call Li Yi and ask him to send someone to rescue her, yet knowing that Li Yi was still with Qu Wange made her heart sink.

The next morning, as soon as Ni Xuanyi and Ruan Xi got up, a servant came knocking at the door. When Ruan Xi opened the door, she saw four maids standing in front of it, each holding stacks of boxes or bags.

"What is your brother up to" Ni Xiangyi became a little anxious again.
“He wants to win you over," Ruan Xi sighed.
Ni Xiangyi didn’t change into the clothes that Ruan Zhao had sent and continued wearing her jeans and T-shirt as she walked out with Ruan Xi towards the main house for breakfast.
Before they even entered, Ni Xiangyi saw through the floor-to-ceiling window that more than ten women, some flirtatious and others alluring, were already seated inside. There was a mix of Eastern and Western styles among them; there seemed to be every type. Additionally, there were four or five girls who were either slightly older or younger than Ruan Xi, dressed fashionably with rather haughty expressions.
These people sat in different spots on the comfortable sofas in the spacious living room, each with a servant nearby attending them, their heads held high as if they were concubines and imperial consorts of past dynasties, all decked out and gathered together.
"Who are these people" Ni Xiangyi curiously asked Ruan Xi softly.
Ruan Xi shrugged nonchalantly. "They're my dad's women and daughters!"
“So many” Ni Xiangyi was stunned.
"There are even more living outside who haven't been brought back yet," Ruo Xi chuckled.
"What do you mean by 'haven't been brought back yet'" Ni Xuanyi was curious.
"These are all the women my father brought home when he was in power. Back then, he did whatever he wanted as the head of the family. Later, when my brother took over, he didn't allow my father to bring more random women back home. Even if they were brought back, they could only stay overnight and not settle down."
