Ni Xuanyi urgently wanted to see Li Yi and, without hesitation, pushed the door open with force. Inside, she could faintly make out two people sitting there. Although the lights were off, making it somewhat dark inside, she still recognized one of them as Li Yi. The other was a woman; after squinting her eyes carefully, she realized that this person was her imaginary rival Tang Moli, who sat very close to Li Yi.

When Ni Xuanyi suddenly saw Tang Moli, she became aware that she was wearing a provocative nightgown for sleep and had no shoes on. She felt rather panicked and hastily retreated backward, trying to hide her bare feet.

The moment Li Yi saw Ni Xuanyi about to leave, he felt extremely anxious. He knew that back then, Ni Xuanyi had followed Ruan Zhao back to the Golden Triangle due to a misunderstanding involving himself and Tang Moli. Now, under these circumstances with him and Tang Moli alone in one room without turning on the light while talking, it was incredibly ambiguous…

Thinking of this, Li Yi felt a bit sweaty; he feared that Ni Xuanyi would misunderstand again, so he quickly stood up and rushed over to her.

Ni Xuanyi felt herself acting rudely and awkwardly looked at Li Yi: "I didn't expect you had guests here. Sorry for the disturbance! You two can continue your conversation!"

Li Yi became even more anxious, “Xuanxuan!” He pulled Ni Xuanyi, who was about to leave, into his embrace.

Ni Xuanyi sensed Li Yi's anxiety towards her and gave him a reassuring smile while whispering softly: "You two can talk first. I'll go back to my room to change clothes and come over later."

"No, I'll have the servant bring your robe over for you," Li Yi said as he loudly instructed a servant to fetch Ning Xuanyi's robe. He then held Ning Xuanyi and walked towards the inside of the room, seemingly unwilling to be apart from her even for a minute.

Tang Moli sat on the sofa, staring fixedly at the happy little woman in Li Yi's arms, feeling various emotions churn within her heart.

Ever since she was young, she had liked Li Yi. She had gone to the Orient against all convention for his sake and humbly worked as an employee of Dynasty Empire for him. She deliberately made their relationship ambiguous and tried to eliminate all potential dangers and false enemies.

Tang Moli had observed every woman in Li Yi's life, weighed pros and cons, compared repeatedly, and concluded that she was the most suitable person to be his wife. However, no matter how much she pondered over it, she never expected to lose to this young girl with no background and no stunning appearance.

In fact, she had been too careless, forgetting that men in the Li family favored girls like Cinderella-type little ladies. The matriarch of the Li family was such a woman, as was Li An's wife; Li Yi’s taste and choices wouldn't be very different from those of his father and brothers.

Li Yi switched on the lights, allowing Ning Xuanyi to clearly see Tang Moli sitting on the sofa. She wore a leather coat, with a scarf loosely wound around her neck, and her long hair was casually draped over her shoulders; when she smiled slightly, one could truly say that she was breathtakingly beautiful.

"Miss Tang, hello," Ning Xuanyi politely greeted Tang Moli.

"Miss Ning, hello." Although Tang Moli knew that Ning Xuanyi and Li Yi were already married, she stubbornly refused to call her "Madam Li."

Ni Xuanyi didn't mind, and she sat down next to Li Yi with a smile. Soon after, her shoulder felt warm as Li Yi wrapped his arms around her. Although she felt somewhat embarrassed in the presence of others, Li Yi's grip was firm, making it impossible for her to break free. She decided to give up on maintaining her posture and relaxed against him instead, feeling extremely comfortable. "Brother Yi, it’s so late, aren’t you going to keep me here for dinner" Tang Moli watched the scene with a hidden sense of sadness but maintained an open demeanor as she spoke.

"Of course, what do you like I’ll instruct the servants to prepare your favorite dishes." Li Yi smiled gently and nodded his head.

"You already know what I love. Just have the servants make my usual dishes," Tang Moli pouted deliberately. Even though she was destined not to marry Li Yi, she still wanted to cause some trouble for Ni Xuanyi.

Li Yi smiled indifferently and instructed the servants to prepare dinner. As he did so, Ni Xuanyi listened carefully to the dishes being prepared; several of them were her favorites.

The palm of Li Yi’s hand, holding Ni Xuanyi's, felt slightly cold. He kindly asked a servant to bring her a cup of hot beverage. Since she had only worn pajamas and run out barefoot earlier, she was indeed feeling chilly. The scalding hot milk tea warmed her previously cold palms instantly. She glanced at Li Yi who smiled warmly, his face close by.

Suddenly, Ni Xuanyi no longer cared about what Tang Moli said or did. Li Yi's feelings towards her and the others were absolutely different; he offered genuine affection to her while being merely courteous and polite to Tang Moli and other women.

Tang Moli observed their interaction with a glance that could say more than words, trying to hide her disappointment by forcing herself to laugh. She then suggested with a turn of the eye, "We rarely meet overseas; tonight we must drink as much as possible! We won’t stop until we are tipsy!"

Li Yi smiled and agreed.

In his heart, he felt somewhat indebted to Tang Moli. He knew what she had done for him and how much she had sacrificed. If not for meeting Ni Xuanyi, Tang Moli would have been the perfect match for marriage—understanding, capable, cheerful, and generous. With good relations between their families, even without mutual love, Li Yi would eventually marry her when it was time to settle down.

But later, he met Ni Xuanyi and could no longer pretend to be indifferent and marry other women. Therefore, Li Yi always felt that he owed Tang Moli something. As long as her demands were not too unreasonable, he would try his best to satisfy her.

Li Yi knew that Tang Moli was a strong-willed person. Not marrying her must have been the greatest humiliation in her life, leaving her with deep resentment. He thought that only by letting her do what she wanted could she feel at ease and stop bothering him from then on.

In the evening during dinner time, Tang Moli raised a glass of alcohol to challenge Ni Xuanyi to drink with her, but Li Yi quickly stopped her. He could indulge Tang Moli, but he loved his wife even more.

"Why won't you let Miss Ni have some drinks Big Brother Li Yi, you're being biased!" Tang Moli pouted pitifully, tears welling up in her eyes, looking very adorable.

It was not the time to show weakness. Li Yi smiled faintly, "Xuanxuan can't drink alcohol because we are planning to have a child."

Hearing this from Li Yi, Tang Moli's rosy face quickly turned pale. Only when a man deeply loves a woman will he want her to bear his children. They want their love to produce offspring and continue the family line endlessly.

"Moli, you should also drink less alcohol; it is harmful to your health." Li Yi gently advised Tang Moli while continuously serving dishes for Ni Xuanyi as if fearing she wouldn't eat enough.. She whispered to him in warning, "That’s too much!"Meng Meng acted as if he hadn’t heard and continued to warmly welcome the aunts and other womenfolk. These aunts knew about Ni Xuanyi's recent home...
